CREATURES OF HABIT
Diving deep enough into virtually every creative profession will show you that they all have the same basic structure. Contrast, unity, variety, balance, all can be found amidst professional chefs, musicians, authors, and, of course, graphic designers. This was the original concept for the Creatures of Habit zine—to express patterns and their connection to humanity through visual cues, but to also compile various theoretical articles and content to fully encapsulate the idea of humans inherently being creatures of habit.

The design for this zine started with the repetition of various body parts. In other words, giving it humanity was the first step. Then patterns formed with the type system and use of color. But keeping with the concept of using the design principles to connect everything, variety is plentiful throughout the zine. Unity through variety, balance by contrast.
